WHAT IS THE FUTURE OF GLS?

__________________________________________________________________________________________

For 33 years the Lord has blessed us with a Christian School and dedicated Christian teachers. Now with a low student enrollment, the Voters of Gethsemane are asked to gather for a special meeting on Sunday, June 8, to give heartfelt consideration to this matter. It is important to have all Voters in attendance for the upcoming meeting. Meanwhile, let us commit this to prayer, asking the Lord for His direction, praying that His will be done.

GETHSEMANE SENIORS

__________________________________________________________________________________________

The Gethsemane Seniors will gather together in our church parish hall on Thursday, June 12, at 11:30 a.m. for their meeting and fellowship.

Please Remember:  Every Senior is requested to bring a sack lunch to the June 12th meeting to auction.  Please write the contents of the lunch you are bringing on the outside of the bag so that it is visible to the bidder.  There will be a silent auction with the minimum bid starting at $1.00.  Any questions, please call Eleanor Simon at 922-3471.   Be sure to come for some fun!

BAPTISM

_________________________________________________________________________________________

God’s promises of forgiveness and life in Christ were personally bestowed upon Debra Jean Powell in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism here at Gethsemane on Saturday, May 24.  Debra is the daughter of Arlene Powell and the late Ward Powell.  Her godparents are Duane and Jolene Wentz.

May the Lord preserve this precious loved one in her Christian faith through continued spiritual nourishment with the Word of God.

CLC NEWS

_________________________________________________________________________________________

Pastor Michael Schierenbeck has a rare blood disease which makes it impossible for his bone marrow to produce mature red cells. He is scheduled to receive a stem cell/bone marrow transplant from his brother, Dan, in the first part of July. He has resigned from his call at Fatih, Markesan, WI.  He will be in isolation at the Mayo Clinic for 100 days. He then will face, God willing, a long recovery period.

Mike and his family intend to stay in the Markesan area. He does have medical insurance, but there are going to be living expenses and extra costs during the next year.

A special fund has been established by the Markesan congregation to assist the Schierenbeck family. Because of IRS regulations, these gifts are not tax deductible. You may send contributions to:  Farmer’s State Bank, 86 E. Water St., Markesan, WI  53946.

Checks are to be made out to Mike Schierenbeck.  Write “transplant fund” on the memo line.

Let us keep Pastor Schierenbeck and his family in our prayers. While man and medicine have limited power, we look to "Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think." (Eph. 3:20). "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:16). We know that all things work together for good, and that whether we live or die we are the Lord's.

From 1967-1980, the Schierenbeck family lived in Spokane, while Mike’s father served as Gethsemane’s pastor.
